Little Baddow: a century of village life gathers together the memories of residents of the village to produce an image of life here in the 20th century. There are twenty six contributors, each offering a particular perspective on village life. It was put together during 1998 and 1999 as a way to mark the millennium, and published by the Little Baddow Historical Society.
It is illustrated by a range of images taken from the Parish Chest.
Available at £8.99
It combines historical information with watercolour illustrations to give a flavour of life in the villages.
The second and third volumes are available at £10 for a printed copy, while the first is now available on CD for only £4.
They are available at £7.50 each.
And for those of you inclined to raise a glass to the man who gave his name to The Generals Arms public house, there is the account by Julian Whybra of the life of General Strutt, entitled The General, at £4.99
